Introduction
I’m Kelly, welcome to Pop Up Play Village in and around Chester, Wrexham, Whitchurch and Nantwich!
I am very excited to be bringing Pop Up Play Village to these towns and the surrounding areas.
I’m a married Mum of two gorgeous but crazy little boys! Much of my career has been in healthcare, and for the last 17 years I’ve worked for the NHS as a Physiotherapist, mainly working with adults with learning disabilities in community settings. I have always enjoyed working in this area and bringing positive changes to people’s lives.
Since having my boys, I have noticed how much children love role play. As a parent I love to watch and engage in this play with them. I’ve always felt it gives an unique opportunity to see and understand the world as they see it, through their eyes, whether they’re being policemen, firefighters, chefs, builders or superheroes!
I am passionate about the educational aspects gained from role play and the positive effects it has on the development of children’s social skills, communication and confidence. I heard about Pop Up Play Village from a friend who had attended a session in her area, knowing this was a passion of mine she felt it might be a good fit for me, on looking into it I instantly loved the ethos of the brand and the educational benefits it can bring and knew I wanted to be a part of it.

Today we unveiled the Pop Up Play Village Bank at the Lloyds Banking Group Family Fun Day!
Lloyds asked me to develop a bank especially for their event and I think we met the brief! Complete with an ATM, cash till, bank manager’s office and even a safe, there were plenty of opportunities for the children to count money, complete their banking forms and serve their customers.
Alongside the bank, we created a little village featuring our Café and Ice Cream Bar, Construction Site, Baby Nursery, Dinosaurs and Minibeasts.
It was such a lovely family event. The sun came out, we enjoyed brilliant live music from Eduardo Bertolai who I would thoroughly recommend. We even welcomed some very special visitors into the village: Disney princesses and Rumi from KPop Demon Hunters from Happily Ever After Princesses.
A huge thank you to Lloyds Banking Group for booking us and giving me the opportunity to bring this new play area to life. I already know our school teachers are going to love having the bank visit their schools!
Thank you to everyone who came to play with us today. We loved seeing so many little bankers, builders, café owners, dinosaur explorers and minibeast investigators getting involved.
