Introduction
Welcome to Pop Up Play Village South Somerset, run by Shelley. I am a secondary school teacher who now works part-time whilst spending time with my 3 year old daughter Lucy. After spending 17 years specialising in Secondary and Further Education, I developed a strong interest in the importance of role play-based interaction as I found it fascinating how children’s imaginations come to life.
Having developed my own role play based activities for my daughter, I decided that I wish to pursue the opportunity to provide high-quality play sessions in our local area. Pop Up Play Village provides a space with toys that many do not have at home, themes and activities that encourage their imaginations to come to life!
Role play-based activities enables children to enhance their ability to read and write stories in school, develops their ability to share, empathise with friends and very importantly, develops their confidence to challenge themselves in terms of their skills. After growing up during lockdown, this provides us as parents/carers with fantastic opportunities to support our children’s physical and mental health.
We provide regular play sessions across South Somerset and we can also cater for parties and events on request. Please feel free to contact me with any queries.
