Introduction
Hi I’m Katie and I run Pop Up Play Village East Herts and North West Essex.
I am thrilled to bring Pop Up Play Village to the area, it’s a unique experience for children and adults that is exciting and educational.
I first came across Pop Up Play Village during October 2020 and as soon as I was introduced to the concept, I was hooked. With a lot of uncertainty in the UK at the time and being heavily pregnant, I put the idea to the back of my mind. However in January 2021 after my daughter was born I still couldn’t shift the feeling that this was something I really wanted to be part of.
I currently work as a Primary School PE teacher alongside running Pop Up Play Village and before this worked as a Sports Studies lecturer in further education. I have two young children Alfie and Ella, so I know first hand how important it is to find a session that they can both benefit from and also provides an enjoyable and rewarding experience for the adult as well. I love watching my children be engrossed in play, especially the creativity that is shown when my eldest role plays. Cafes and car sales are his current favourite, I can’t tell you how many cars I have bought from him for £5.00.
Pop Up Play Village combines everything that I would want out of a parent/child session. It allows children aged 0-8 years to learn, socialise and develop through play, expanding their imagination, but also gives the adult an opportunity to get fully involved, not forgetting a great place for adults to socialise themselves.
I will be running weekday and weekend sessions, popping up in a number of different locations and also offering parties, school visits and more.
